The Berita Harian is a newspaper produced out of Malaysia in the Malay language. In English, Berita Harian means Daily News. It was founded on August 31, 1957 which is the day of Malaysia’s independence. From its founding date until July 5, 2008, it was printed on a broadsheet format. Starting July 6, 2008, it switched to a tabloid format. The newspaper is widely popular in Malaysia with a circulation of 231,163.

A wide range of news is represented in the Berita Harian. These news topics take place close to home, close the Malaysian region, as well as across the world. The topics vary and range from sports to politics and religion. Other news sources include culture and tradition, the arts, family, hobbies, and entertainment and leisure. This news source also provides an opportunity for the community of Malaysia to voice their opinions, views, and concerns on key important issues. It is catered to meet the specific needs of the Malay community.

The Berita Harian news source can be found in print form in Malaysia as well as on the internet from anywhere in the world. It is important to note, however, that even the online version of the paper is strictly written in the Malay language. The Malay Berita Harian is not to be confused with the paper based out of Singapore sharing the same name.
